During this year's EUROSTEEL Conference, held September 12-14, 2023 in Amsterdam, the winner of the ESDA 2023 competition was announced with great ceremony. PIKS member company MOSTOSTAL PUŁAWY S.A. is responsible for the implementation of one of the awarded projects.
The European Steel Design Awards are presented by the European Convention on Steel Construction (ECCS) every two years. Their purpose is to promote the creative and unique use of steel in industry and architecture. The awards are dedicated to investors, architects, engineers, general contractors and steel construction contractors.
Among all the submitted projects, the jury awarded 18 projects that made it to the finals. The Polish Chamber of Steel Structures had the opportunity to submit realizations of Member Companies due to their full membership in the ECCS. Two realizations were submitted:
MOSTOSTAL PUŁAWY S.A. – Sports and entertainment hall in Puławy
ZEMAN HDF – CAVATINA HALL concert hall in Bielsko-Biała
The ceremonial announcement of the results of the ESDA 2023 competition took place on September 12, 2023, during the proceedings of the 10th edition of the international EUROSTEEL 2023 conference in Amsterdam. The conference was organized by TU Delft, ETH Zurich, and Bouwen met Staal in collaboration with ECCS. This event is one of the largest and most recognized scientific and technical conferences globally, dedicated to the field of steel and composite construction.
In the ESDA 2023 competition, 18 submitted projects from 12 ECCS member countries participated.
The competition finalists and winners of the ESDA 2023 award were selected by an international jury composed of Annamarie HAGOORT (Netherlands) – President of ECCS and Chair of the AC4 Architectural Awards Committee, Bernhard HAUKE (Germany) – Chair of the Promotional Management Board at ECCS, Klaus THÜRRIEDL (Austria) – President of the European Council of Engineers Chambers (ECEC), Karel TERWEL (Netherlands) – Engineer at IMD Ingenieurs, Joost VOS (Netherlands) – Architect at Benthem Crouwel Architects.
