Recently Mostostal Pulawy S.A. was a producer of a steel structure of a gangplank. It was an order made by HOCHTIEF Polska Sp. z o.o. dept. in Poznan, Poland. The gangplank was a part of a shopping center “Galeria Malta” being built in that city. In future it would be a connection between green areas of Malta Lake and “Galeria Malta”. It would be suspended with steel bars and ropes and fastened to a pylon made and assembled by our company.
The pylon consisted of two independent legs: a short one 33m high and a tall one of 40m and of five sway braces. The pylon’s legs were designed as a fully closed box construction. That is why it could not be integrated at the site and hat to be prepared in Pulawy and then in whole delivered to Poznan. The delivery was hindered because of the construction’s gauge. It hat to be carried out only during the night and it took two nights to deliver the structure to a destination point.
On July 19th there was the complicated operation of assembling of the pylon that took place. The operation was planned to last for two days, buy at the end it took only 13 hours to be competed. Smooth organization enabled the traffic to restore, avoiding any further disturbations.
