With great satisfaction we have received information that President of Mostostal Pulawy SA – Mr. Tadeusz Rybak – was honored with the title "Man of the Year in Sports" in Lubelskie district. The laureate was represented by coach of cycle team Pogon Mostostal Pulawy - Mr. Adam Wojewodka – during the Gala of Champions on January 9th, 2009 in Congress Center of Agricultural University in Lublin. Very important and urgent professional tasks were the reasons of Mr. Rybak absence during this significant and needed ceremony.
Sport in Lubelskie district is supported by Mostostal Pulawy S.A. with a financial sponsorship from many years. Our cycling team Pogon Mostostal Pulawy is winning numerous victories. We are trying to see sportsmen’s needs and to fulfill their requirements. Sport, especially cycling is also personal passion of Mr. T. Rybak, therefore he understands and supports the development of sport in Lubelskie region.
Mostostal Pulawy has completed the building of first roofed cycling track in Poland – BGZ Arena in 2008. The investor of this object was Polish Cycling Federation (PZKol). Roofed cycling track was honoured by Polish Chamber of Steelworks (PIKS) with the title of Steel Construction- Realization of the Year 2008. We are very pleased that Mr. Tadeusz Rybak was awarded the title of " Man of the Year in Sports" and we hope that similar sport objects will arise in Lubelskie region. We are convinced that our sportsmen will be able to train in objects with European and world standards in near future, here, in Lubelskie district.
During the ceremony the results of plebiscite were presented to the audience – Karolina Michalczuk was chosen by the readers of Polska Kurier Lubelski and Lubelski Sport Express to be "Sportsman of the Year in Lubelskie Voivodeship".
This female boxer from Paco Lublin won the Women's World Boxing Championships in Ningbo, China in November 2008. K. Michalczuk is trained by Wladyslaw Maciejewski and she is the winner of the second, after Henryk Srednicki, golden medal in world boxing championships.
The winners in different categories were presented during this ceremony – "Coach of the Year" – Mr. Jan Godlewski, the trainer of female wrestling national team. Final Gala of the Plebiscite was a big sport and social event in Lublin. Among the invited guests there were present Czeslaw Lang and Ryszard Szurkowski – famous Polish cyclists and also many significant personalities.
