Two volleyball matches of 2009 FIVB World League between Poland and Brazil there were held on June,27th and 28th 2009 at multifunctional sports and entertainment arena in Lodz on the Unia Lubelska 2 Street. First matches of the season of FIVB World League with accompaniment of polish fans there were held in arena constructed in 2008 by Mostostal Pulawy. The official opening of this object has taken place on May, 8th 2009. The scope of work for Mostostal covered the assembly of steel construction of the roof with total weight of 2000 tonnes.
The arena looks amazing, the steel construction looks grandly against a background of dark roofing and makes a good match for the tribunes.
The hall Arena Lodz meets the highest standards of sports objects in Poland, it is the biggest ( with the area of 27 500 m2) and one of the most modern venues of this type in our country. The venue can be also adapted for the organization of the biggest sports events.
Despite the record number of audience ( almost 13 000 people each day) Polish volleyball team was beaten by the Brazilians.
