In accordance with a long-standing tradition, the October event organized by the Polish Chamber of steelwork was held at the Holiday Inn hotel in Józefów near Warsaw. The XIV PIKS Congress dedicated to the foreign expansion of enterprises in the steelwork sector was attended by over 150 participants and invited guests.
The Congress began on 11 October 2016 with a speech by the President of the Chamber Tadeusz Rybak (Mostostal Puławy S.A.).
The presentation, which was an introduction to the topic of the Congress, was then delivered by the Advisor to the Secretary of State, Member of the Council of Ministers and Plenipotentiary of the Prime Minister on European Funds and Regional Development, Grzegorz Mickiewicz. He pointed out the objectives that the Ministry of Development wants to achieve on the way to strengthening the Polish economy - among others, the development of innovation, foreign expansion and regional development.
The next speaker - Michał Trojanowski of the ICAN Institute touched on the subject of foreign expansion, which may arise not only out of necessity, but also out of a strategic ambition.
The CEO of the Board of LionBridge Poland & Slovakia Jacek Stryczyński and Anna Domagała – CEO of the Board of NOMAX Trading SP. z o.o. spoke on how to develop abroad. The speakers presented an example of a well-conducted marketing campaign, which in a relatively short time interval allowed increasing the recognition of a niche brand.
The first part of the Congress ended with the presentation of the President of the Polish Cluster of Construction Exporters - Tomasz Szuba, who is also Chairman of the Board of the TINES Capital Group S.A., which presented the idea of PKEB and possible directions of foreign expansion for Polish companies.
In the second part of the event, two panel discussions were held, the first, on how to build a business development strategy in foreign markets, while the second panel discussion was devoted to the topic of best practices related to the implementation of foreign expansion.
